The New Writing and Reporting students at Middle Georgia State University have less than two weeks to finish their newspapers. Students are working together to develop strategies for their group's publication. Some of the groups are missing group members which presents a couple of challenges. When a group member is missing it can cause the group to fall behind because creating a newspaper requires participation from all members. Each member has been assigned a specific role: editor, layout editor, or staff writer. Rather than getting frustrated, the groups are continuing to treat each other with respect and are tackling their tasks with determination.
The News Writing and Reporting students at Middle Georgia State University are in the development stage of creating their newspapers. The students have been split up into four groups, We The Students, The Knightly Knowing, The Tea Times, and Peer Review. Each group is working hard to establish their 28 page newspaper before the end of the semester. The editors are reviewing all of their staff writer's work and supplying helpful feedback. The layout editors are developing "dummy sheets" which will be an essential tool in the creation of the newspapers. Each "dummy sheet" represents a page in the final newspaper and functions as a template in the creation process. The development process relies on successful communication and teamwork within each group. |
